Privacy Policy

BridgeLens is a tool for recognising bridge hands from photographs. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

What we collect

  • Email address — used for login only (via Google or magic link). We don't send marketing emails.
  • Uploaded images — photos you submit for card recognition. EXIF metadata (GPS, camera info, timestamps) is automatically stripped on upload.
  • Detection results — the PBN output and BBO links generated from your photos.
  • Usage events — anonymous events (pages visited, uploads, processing times, whether corrections were made) stored in our own database to help us understand how the site is used and improve it. We do not use third-party analytics trackers or cookies.

How we use it

  • To provide the card recognition service and show your upload history.
  • Model training (opt-in only) — if you tick the consent checkbox when uploading, we may use that image to improve our card recognition models. Images uploaded without consent are never used for training.

Data retention

  • Your account and upload history are kept until you ask us to delete them.
  • You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing john@johnfaben.com.

Third parties

  • Google — if you sign in with Google, we receive your email and display name. See Google's privacy policy.
  • Resend — used to deliver magic link emails. See Resend's privacy policy.
  • BBO (Bridge Base Online) — detected hands are displayed using BBO's handviewer. The hand data is passed in the URL only.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact john@johnfaben.com for any data requests.
